Christian Values by levite Christian Values by levite
...

Thanks to all who have commented and :+fav: - forgive me if I don't comment, as the response has been overwhelming. I just wanted to thank all that have supported the statement! May God bless you!

"A man may have to die for our country: but no man must, in any exclusive sense, live for his country. He who surrenders himself without reservation to the temporal claims of a nation, or a party, or a class is rendering to Caesar that which, of all things, most emphatically belongs to God: himself." - C.S. Lewis

USA is not a Christian country, but secular.

Yopu have been listening to Obama a little too much.  Of course, a false statement, but it is irrelevant. Why would it matter as it relates to the values "I" support?

Treaty of Tripoli?

As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Muslims; and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

Moving the poles?  You did not state "the Government of the USA, which by default would be absurd to even fathom as Christian.  Your initial statement was "USA is not a Christian country, but secular."  However, the information I provided demonstrated the contrary:

This Christmas season, 78% of American adults identify with some form of Christian religion. Less than 2% are Jewish, less than 1% are Muslim, and 15% do not have a religious identity. This means that 95% of all Americans who have a religious identity are Christians.  Source www.gallup.com/poll/151760/Chr…

Bottom line... it is IRRELEVANT to the initial argument.

The pleasure is all mine.  Unfortunately, I lost my ability as I lost my PS copy as well.  I do not have any software at present.  I am sure I can make one once I get my software installed again.

You should reconsider that statement, as well as where your loyalties truly lie. This country is not a theocracy, the greatest power here is the ballot. When you vote, put both democracy and America before Christ. Always.

NEVER... my values will ALWAYS come first.

I do not expect a theocratic government, such notion is actually illogical. If God was to govern, there would be no need for votes (of course that is another story).

Every time we get flamed because of our beliefs, I just keep thinking about God already told us the world would do :) So, they don't scare me a bit.

All politicians are. I don't have a problem with their religious beliefs, whether mormon or muslim... I am more concern of where they stand in regards to the positions I value.

It's funny how much hate there is in the world yet some people chose one thing that it's okay to hate. The internet seems to have decided it's okay to hate Christianity but everything else must be respected. Nothing was said other than you believe in your christian beliefs yet all these people started arguing because they hate Christianity even though you have expressed none of the hate they are complaining about.

C.S. Lewis said it best: "Christianity has not, and does not profess to have, a detailed political programme for applying "Do as you would be done by" to a particular society at a particular moment. It could not have. It is meant for all men at all times, and the particular programme which suited one place or time would not suit another. And, anyhow, that is not how Christianity works. When it tells you to feed the hungry it does not give you lessons in cookery. When it tells you to read the Scriptures it does not give you lessons in Hebrew and Greek, or even in English grammar. It was never intended to replace or supersede the ordinary human arts and sciences; it is rather a director which will set them all to the right jobs, and a source of energy which will give them all new life, if only they will put themselves at its disposal."

I commend you for your valor and spirit to speak for values! That's something that has disappeared from society and some churches! The bible clearly say if you deny me on earth I will deny you before my father! Something like that :)

I proudly support my opinion of Freedom of Religion and having a wall of separation between church and state.

Good for you, you should make your own banner ;)

BTW, you are in fact familiar where the term separation from church and state came from and why, right? As I stated to others, the use of separation of church and state and what it means is that no law shall be established "respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press.". This misuse and misconception of Thomas Jefferson's correspondence, is often the case when there is a wish to silence, refusal to accept the establishment of religion, and the attempt to prohibit the free exercise thereof abridging free speech. The phrase was coined to establish that "government" must be neutral among religions and nonreligion: it cannot promote, endorse, or fund religion or religious institutions. This fact does not negate the 1st amendment that I am hereby exercising.

Have a good day...

How do you know what it means?
Did Thomas Jefferson come up to you and tell you what it meant?
Did he write more explaining what it meant?

No. Quotes, stories, and the bible are all meant to be taken by however the person takes it. If you think that, sure, that's the way you understood it, but unless the person who said it says otherwise, everyone can think what they want of it.
